- SEAN HIGGINS : ONCE AGAIN THE POWERS TO BE CONTROL WHAT HAPPENS TO A GREAT SHOW SO THEY CAN LINE THEIR PANTS WITH MORE $ $ $... I GUESS HBO REALLY WANT TO SIDE WITH THEIR SPECIAL INTERESTS AND NOT THE HARD WORKING CUSTOMER TIME TO PULL THE PLUG ON HBO FOR ME : ) ...

- Thomas D. Griffith: HBO Deadwood is as good as it gets. Keep it!!
- Jim Downard: Cancel Deadwood? What are you? Stupid?
- Michael Wyman: It’s rare that a series gets to explore how America became America in such depth as Deadwood has. The writing is amazing and the parallels to contemporary society are always on the mark. It’s hard to imagine David Milch finding such depth in a series about a surfer. So let’s tally it up: no Sopranos, no Six Feet Under, no Sex & the City, no Deadwood. That leaves The Wire and I suppose I can buy the DVDs for that. So no HBO!
- Stan Goettsch
- Angie Gentry
- Amy Sandqvist
- James Madison: Not another dime until they finish the Deadwood story. Power to the Hoople!

- Cheryl Friedman
- Kevin Ong
- Darrin McCullough: I watched Season one on DVD, was about to subscribe to HBO just for Deadwood - holding now to see result

- J.L. St. James: H.B.nO.
- Carole Peterson: HBO gives us these beautiful series and then rips them away without closure. It breaks my heart but if DEADWOOD Season 4 is cancelled, I'm cancelling HBO immediately following Season 3.

- James Goojre

- Mike Zaharakis: Count me in and out of HBO if the network cancels Deadwood. And HBO: thanks so much for that form-letter response! Wait until you feel MY response - in your wallet!

- Monte Rae Churchman: Deadwood is the best show on TV... EVER. Its cancellation is a crime.
- Anya Galkina: I see no point in supporting original shows if they will never see completion. The case of Deadwood is particularly obnoxious, since it's a well-performing and highly acclaimed series. I don't want to get involved in shows that get cancelled so capriciously. Goodbye, HBO.
- Brian Lively: Why bother wasting time with any future HBO series if a show like Deadwood could be given the boot without a proper ending?
- Jamie Olson-Ocamb
- Christina Padgett: Buh-bye HBO (immediately following Deadwood Ep. 36)
- Freddy Padgett

- Peggy Garvie
- Ron New
- Larry L. Graham. If something must end, there can be no loose ends.

As of May 25, 2006
- Stacy Griffith
- Linda Sallee
- Vickie Lang: To HBO: I am absolutely astonished and saddened that HBO would end the series after season three without any consideration for the show's loyal fans. I have been a VERY long time HBO subscriber.....but the day after season three ends, no more HBO. I am also recruiting other family members to do the same... There is still time, HBO, to rectify this very serious wrong.......give us at least one more season......let the show run it's natural course, and give us an ending we can be satisfied with......how can that be too much to ask?
- Peggy Currid: When Deadwood ends, no DVD purchases and no more HBO for me. What will I do with my Sunday nights? I hear that Desperate Housewives is pretty good.
- Jackie Rosenfeld

- Vicki Kyvrikosaios: THis IS a good show, don't cancel
- Brian J. Salerno: After they cancel Deadwood and the Soprano’s is done, what’s the point? The trudging Rome, ridiculous Big Love, or predictable Entourage? Showtime has Bullsh*t, Huff, and the L Word.. If Deadwood’s gone, so are we. Someone needs to help HBO realign its budget.

- Kevin Sweeney: I used to turn HBO on (DirecTV) on Sundays. Then they added the $10 turn off/turn on fee. This is the last straw.

- Aspasia K.: Please don't cancel Deadwood. It's one of the best shows out there - awarding and critically acclaimed. Don't leave your audiences hanging!
- William Baker
- Rayetta Stanley
- Neil Briffett
- Jon Lamb: This is the best show that has ever been produced by HBO. To unceremoniously cancel it is a tragedy. I will watch the third season and then bid farewell to HBO. HBO a network that has a couple of good shows and a lot of dreck. They obviously had to make room for more highbrow fare such as "Cathouse 2: It Hurts When I Pee" and "Murdered Dog Autopsy 7." Good riddance.
- Josh Kugler: C-ya HBO, you cancelled the only good show on your crappy cable network.
- Bill Ethington: IF cancel that stupid program "big love" you would have the money to bring back "DEADWOOD for the forth season if don't I will cancel HBO. You morons
- The Story family (Judy, Jason, Micheal, Dylan, Lia, Larry): The ONLY reason we have HBO is to watch deadwood
- Leslie Crabtree: Hey HBO, I have eagerly awaited the start of the third season of Deadwood, my favorite HBO series EVER. I love the Sopranos and I loved Six Feet Under, but there is just no better writing than the soaring poetry of the wild and profane Deadwood crowd. PLEASE don't cancel it. It is why I keep HBO.
- Valerie de Grange: PLEASE DON'T cancel Deadwood!! It is the best show ever!! We were so disappointed when Carnivale didn't return........please don't do this to us again!!!
- Veo Kearns: Stupid HBO :-( I love Al, he's my hero -hehe.

Please cancel insipid Big Love instead, and bring back our beloved characters for a fourth and final season, the way David Milch intended. I am canceling my decades long HBO subscription as soon as season three airs, if you don't renew Deadwood. There is no other reason to watch.
- Rich Lamancusa: Rich L- Dont cancel Deawood!!! Why would you cancel your best show? No Deadwood= NO Hbo
- Jeff Locke
- I Zevos
- Ann and Hector Perez: Deadwood is the only reason we subscribe to HBO, and we certainly won't think twice of cancelling if it is no longer aired. Deadwood is the most brilliantly done series (in so many ways) that has ever graced the network, to cancel it would be a travesty.
- Daniel Robinson: HBO IS INSANE!!!!!
As of May 26, 2006
- C Van Horn: Subscriber of HBO on Direct TV for 3 years and local cable for 2. Screw the 8 remaining Soprano's episodes. They'll be on Bravo in a year anyway.
- Ken Turbin:HBO has already gotten rid of Carnivale, The Sopranos is on its way out, now Deadwood too? When Deadwood leaves HBO, My family goes too
- Kevin Pierce

- Kenneth E. Beck.
- Erik Walsh: Deadwood is a phenomenal show and if those morons cancel so do I , as well as boycott them and anything their involved with.
- Cielo Cossio
- Wendy Pollard
- Jason DeFillippo: After 16 years as a loyal subscriber it comes to this? Shame on you Chris Albrecht and HBO
- Ken Beck: The only reason to subscribe to HBO is for Deadwood. "No Deadwood, *&%#’ hang HBO and let it swing!"
- Kristen Keith
- Julie Sharpe: This aggression will not stand, man.
- Susan Hu: I am a political blogger, and Deadwood is the one show that consistently aroused great devotion and interest among political bloggers because it is intellectually and emotionally stimulating, and the dialogue is brilliant, clever and worth reviewing several times for its layered meanings.
- Darcy Hudgens
- Larry grub -- nomodeadwood, nomohbo. it's the most realistic western i've seen. where else can you call a gimp a gimp, a whore a whore, yes life has changed since DEADWOOD.
- Rebecca Sweet: We're not gonna 'grab ankle' on this one - you cancel Deadwood...we cancel you.
- Del Blackburn-Also, go to HBO site and send a message directly to HBO from the Deadwood page. I truly have HBO only to record Deadwood.
- Stacy Hargrove
- Roger Murney
- Pam Gearhart: There must be other ways for HBO to save money than by letting their second most popular show die!
- The gordan family (johanna, jessica, john, shirley, bill):As soon as season 3 of deadwood is over so is our subscription to hbo why give our money for half finished projects.
- James Meyer
- Chris Mulhall: No Deadwood=No Trust=End Relationship With HBO
- Martin Leibowitz: How can you cancel a well scripted and wll performed show depicting a real part of American history

- Brian Hale
- Roy Jackson
- Richard Drew
- Nancy Wilson: I've lost ALL faith in HBO!! First Carnivale, now Deadwood!! It breaks my heart!!
- Brenda Elias
- Nathan & Cindy Baker: First you cancel Carnival and leave it hanging now Deadwood, we will cancel our subscription as soon as season 3 is done. Why should I be a loyal customer if you are not loyal to us. And why get back into Rome if they might cancel that eventually too. Good Bye HBO Hello Stars
- Jim Cortez: Just found this out today after purchasing season two dvd. I am so devastated i cannot even watch the dvds!! How could they cancel the best show on cable? I will cancel HBO the MINUTE season 3 ends. Despicable. Shame on you HBO!!
- Jeanine Clayton: I have had HBO for years, but will cancel if Deadwood is axed.
- Steve Weiner
- Cohen Family: While HBO will have our subscription so long as 'The Wire' has a home, the cancellation of 'Deadwood' is heartbreaking. Once 'The Wire' and 'Deadwood' wrap up their final seasons (assuming that 'The Wire' won't get a fifth) HBO is done in this household.
- Marivi Armas
- Eric Keeling- I am a very upset customer.
- Melinda Judd:I subscribe to HBO for only two reasons: "Deadwood" and "The Wire". You jerked us around with "The Wire" but now you've really done it. HBO, listen to the thunder.
As of May 27, 2006
- Darlene Lemone: Subscriber since '82--I knew I held onto it for a reason--DEADWOOD--not surfing, not polygamy!!!!

- Ellin Jean
- Patricia Roberts
- Don Johnson
- Sharron Kirkpatrick
- Marshall Ehlers
- Jahn Ehlers
- Nils Ehlers
- Bob Ohara: Once HBO's season 3 of Deadwood ends HBO will be Dead Wood to me. Don't understand why after news of a 4th season was announced in January it now has been cancelled. Not fair to the loyal fans or especially the actors.
- Stephanie Reisin
- Rick Hopkins: I find it hard to believe that HBO would cancel Deadwood after this upcoming third season. I've considered HBO to be the the one "essential" network, but that will end if Deadwood ends without the conclusion of season 4. I'll get along fine without HBO.
- Scott Day
- Nora M. Hodge and Family: We subscribed to HBO for the first time three episodes into the second season. Even though we could well afford premium channels on cable, we never have paid for HBO, or any other cable upgrades. My husband and I have never found that they offered any programming that we were interested in. That is, until Deadwood. Well, I guess it will be fine to have our Time Warner bill go back down. We will not be continuing HBO after Deadwood. We also found Rome and Big Love, but they are not enough to justify the additional expense.
- Tom Sherry
- Andy Lutes
- Mike McAuvic
- Eric Walker: If Deadwood is cancelled, so is HBO
- Tom Kostelny
- Mary Padgett: Rest in Pieces, Deadwood (3 instead of 4). Apparently, Yankton has relocated to HBO HQ. I'm relocating to Showtime.

As of May 28, 2006
- Clarence Ada
- Joe Mcclain
- Wendy Fleming: HBO has been going downhill for a long time -- they RUINED the Sopranos with loss of continuity (2 years between seasons - twice!), I was pissed then. Now they're cancelling Deadwood?? Screw HBO, no more subscriptions, no more "pre-ordering" DVD's. HBO is WORTHLESS without Deadwood (and the Sopranos), do they even air anything else? Oh yeah, Big Love! Like, I said -- worthless!
- Mark Hamilton
- Liz Ouellette
- Eugene Bailey
- Patrick Shields
- Matthew Schmidt
- Bob & Judi Turk
- Sandra Fitzgerald: I have been out of work for 2 years, but have struggled to keep my HBO on for Deadwood. If Deadwood goes, so does HBO."
- Barbara Brackett
- Wendell J Grayson
- Sheila K. Grant
- Paul Sandilands
- Jeremy Parypa: Cant believe this crap, HBO can shove there channel up there ass, I'm cancelling
- Nancy and Jimmy Spradley: H.B.O. is dead to me without Deadwood.
- Rose Rich
- Robb Dickinson
- Thomas Retmanski
- Dawson Swearngin: are you guys insane letting the best television show go i hope you receive a great backlsh from this
- Evelyn Luck: We took the movie channel option from our provider in order to get Sopranos which was available from HBO. Sopranos will finish this September - Deadwood has replaced the Sopranos as our viewing choice. If you cancel Deadwood, there will be no reason for us to continue with our movie channel option. Shaw Cable (our provider) will not be happy if people start to cancel due to this shortsighted decision.
- Sean Durkin: This is a joke. Of all stations to forego good TV because of ratings...what is the world coming to....
- Rachel Munson: I was devastated after Carnivale was canceled but Deadwood is the last straw. Any good shows that may come in the future I'll wait for the entire season and rent them. No More HBO!
- Cari Spencer: Deadwood is the only reason I continue to subscribe to HBO
- Michael Niederman: I don't care how crazy David Milch might be. It's the best show on TV.

As of May 29, 2006
- Brian L. Magyar: This is outrageous.
- Jay Asmussen: Like a RRRRock.
- Rob Stone: Can't subscribe to HBO in the UK, so can't unsubscribe either; but will definitely stop buying HBO DVDs. Wake up, HBO!
- Paul Athanas, Jane Athanas, Floyd Athanas
- Mark Howard
- Murphy Gene: Save Deadwood, cocksuckers!
- John Contarino
- Joseph Silva: I watch deadwood over and over again. This the only true history I love.
- Suzanne Siegel: I've been a subscriber since 1982. There have been many good shows on HBO, but none better than Deadwood. The decision to cancel Deadwood shows HBO's complete disrespect for its audience and for the artists who produced this great show. There may be good shows on HBO in the future, but I won't be watching them. I will not support a business that treats its consumers with such disdain. The bums will never win!!!
- Dan and Danny Maloney
- Josie and Richard Dutra
- Stephen Moostev
- Connie Dees
- Douglas Anthony: I pledge to cancle my bright house HBO service if Deadwood is cancled.
- Rick Hodge: I have the HBO silver package. There are only two reasons why I pay what I believe to be an excessive price for HBO in the first place..."The Sopranos" and "Deadwood." "The Sopranos" will be over soon. That leaves only one reason to pay for HBO..."Deadwood." If you cancel "Deadwood" I will immediately cancel my subscription to HBO.
- William and Denise Trewhella: No DEADWOOD NO HBO !!!!
- Deborah McKinney: The moment the last episode of Deadwood is broadcast, I WILL CANCEL my SUBSCRIPTION to HBO. I have been a LOYAL CUSTOMER for more than 20 years!!...I promise you, I will also encourage family and friends to do the same!!!!!!
- Tim McCormack
- Marianne Bingham: Cancelling Smart TV is a Dumb Thing to do! The writing, art direction, acting and production of "Deadwood" represents a last vestige of Quality Television.
- Ron Rowe: What is it about high ratings, that HBO does not understand? BUB-BYE HBO.
- Tracy Klein: Wow what a huge disappointment. The main reason I have HBO is for deadwood. I can’t see keeping my subscription any more.
- Frank DePino
- Larry Bedard: I’m gone, repeat of Sopranos this week end, and no Deadwood.
- Rachal Koo: HBO - you are fools.
- Jane Cortez: I only wish to Christ that we could watch Corporate Americans being eaten by Wu's pigs. I never liked HBO but ordered it solely to watch Deadwood and will definitely be cancelling it if they don't carry DW. David Milch's creative genius and artistic brilliance of course are too superior for HBO, and his spiritual understanding reveals mysteries that can only be seen by the salt of the earth.
- Bobby Arkright: Don't be silly, HBO. This show does more for your rep than Big Love, Entourage and The Sopranos combined.
- N. Jones: I certainly don't have HBO for the endless reruns and repeats of movies....... Please don't cancel Deadwood.
- Stephanie Sobka: I am just finding out about the cancellation of Deadwood!! I'm Speechless!!
- Jason Sharp: Very sad news.
- Patrick Donovan: I just heard this news and it is nothing less than mindblowing. After being treated to a horrible season of the Sopranos HBO follows w/ the cancelation of Deadwood... my favorite show on TV! Suffice to say if Deadwood goes so does my subscription to HBO and I sure wouldn't hold my tounge in denouncing HBO to friends and family.

- Robi St. Antoine
- Abhimanyu Das: First Carnivale and now Deadwood. Add to that the ending of The Sopranos and the rumblings about Rome's second season being its last and I must say that HBO is surrendering its mantle of 'last bastion of quality TV' . To replace it with a Mormon soap opera and some sitcom. You guys are cutting the best shows in US TV history. Smart. I'd rage about how all you execs care about is money, but I can't even fathom how that plays a part here since Deadwood has great ratings. It's a slap in the face of your subscribers. I'm gone.

- James Brown
- Howard Roarke

- Bee Ottinger: I would like to do anything I can to save Deadwood. It's a great show.
- Bob Van Voorhis
- The Segars Family (Jake, Josh and Judy)
- Marty Nelson: HBO, at least give us a proper conclusion!
- Ruth Johnson
- Kenneth Bryant: It would be a huge mistake if HBO were to cancel Deadwood, it is the only reason I have HBO in the first place. Deadwood is a high quality program that deserves a chance to grow more. If Deadwood goes then there’s no more HBO for me, see ya!!!
- Philipp Kainbacher
- Jessica Leeflick: Don't let Deadwood die!
- Laura Schumacher
- Mike Sydor
- Brian Fitzpatrick: Goodbye Deadwood? Goodbye HBO!
- Michele Helberg: Deadwood is one of the finest shows on TV. HBO shouldn't drop the ball on this fine show and their amazing ensemble.
- Thomas Loce: Save Deadwood !!!!!!!!
- Catherine Cummings: The best show on television. The best written and the best characters. Please, please, don't let it go. A very loyal fan.
- Suzanne Martley
- Ann Ochse
- Donna Albert: After Deadwood ends HBO is dead to me. So is Cinemax. And any other business venture of Time Warner. I refuse to financially support a company that shows such little respect for its customers. Cocksuckers.
- Erik Wilson & Nikki Bess: Carnivale and Deadwood were the reason we subscribed to HBO. You hearin' me, you hoople heads? Deadwood goes, so do we.
- Shawn Evans: I sat idle when you cancelled Carnivale, but not Deadwood damn it!
- Rebecca and David Daniels: Let Deadwood, the best series on HBO, finish it's planned 4th season, or these 2 HBO subscribers of 20 years will indeed cancel our service....
- Kathy Toscana
As of May 31, 2006
- Aaron Riley: I would bemoan the idea that a cocksucker in a suit would presume to tell me what's good and what isn't. HBO, it's in your best interest to renew the gem of a show "Deadwood" for a fourth and final season the way it was meant to be. In the words of Al Swearengen; "If I have to come over there I'll slit your f#$%^*& throat myself, pen yet touched to paper or not." Take that as you will.
- Kevin Caruso
- Dina: HBO is crazy to cancel one of the best shows ever on TV - what will we do without our fix of Ian McShane????
- Bill Knox
- Adam Schumacher
- Debbie Dilts
- Francis Toscana
- Hugh Oldham: HBO you cocksucka..."I mean how stupid do you think I am?" "I don't know I just met you", says Wild Bill. Unfortunately we know how stupid is h'bo'. Something stinky here.Wu goes I'm gone too...
- Laurie Gehner
- Linda Killian: Here is my official notification that I will be ending my long-standing subscription to HBO if the Deadwood series is not renewed for it's fully intended run of FOUR seasons. This a finely-written, superbly-acted series unlike most of the drivel on television today. Please reconsider your position on this matter, because I won't reconsider mine if Deadwood really is cancelled!
- Gary G. Popovich
- James Killian: This series costs 1/2 of what Rome costs! What's HBO's excuse now?
- Corinne Boyd: I will cancell my HBO subscription the moment that the final episode of Deadwood finishes. From what I hear from my friends, our cable company's phone lines will be jammed with others that feel the same way. I also will not be buying any more Deadwood shows on dvd.
- John Powell: Deadwood + Good ratings = Cancellation... Rome + So-so ratings = Renewal...??????????????????????
- Jana Haines-HBO has jerked me around for years with The Sopranos but I took it because I am addicted. THEN, Deadwood came along and replaced the Sopranos as my drug of choice. If they cancel Deadwood, all my money will go toward detox....not one more dime will go to HBO!
- Kevin Thomas
- Carl Crowther: The only reason I pay for HBO is because of deadwood. So I will be canceling
- Mark Cox
- Carole Mueller: Will cancel. No problem. Fire Albrecht!
- Joseph Hamm: Deadwood depicts the west like no other western I've ever seen, this show has been a refreshing change. The Deadwood series is the only reason my house receives HBO!! Now HBO will be as all other paid programming typical...
- Paul Emmett: Is everything intelligent in jeopardy? I--will--QUIT
- Anthony Toscana
- Tom Little: What part of "No Deadwood = No HBO" do you not understand?
- Li Agen
- Virginia James
- Wendy Bruens and Greg Bruens: We are crazy about Deadwood and have both seasons on DVD. THERE MUST BE A FOURTH!!!! Cancel Deadwood and we cancel HBO.
- Lea Rubin: Deadwood is true genius... how rare is that!
- Alice Fortunato: Restore Deadwood
- Pier Bove
- Karri Carrico
- Louie Lalonde: The only reason I subscribed to HBO was to watch Deadwood. Cancel Deadwood, I cancel HBO.
- Jennifer McClinton-Temple
- Cathy Nagao
- Mary Ann Rao Lancaster: HBO Do not cancel Deadwood. If you do, I will cancel HBO.
- Jerry Rawlings
- Carolyn Knust: NO! NO! NO! DO NOT cancel one of the very best & original series HBO has ever had. What is wrong with you HBO?!
- Tania Gutsche
- Joann Guzman: What's wrong with some history. Maybe some of the younger generation should see how far we have come. I think Deadwood is believable and I look forward to it every Sunday.
- Martin Sullivan
- Tony Marturano: I am really pissed about HBO's position on Deadwood. It is my favorite show on TV.
- Pam Sattler
- Jo Thompson
- Karen Self
- Chris Salak: Will cancel HBO after this season Deadwod
- Andra & Matty OConnor : If Deadwood's gone, so are we. Hello Showtime!
- Bethanie Miller: First you cancel my beloved Brother Justin & Carnivale! Now you are going to cancel Hottie Bullock & Deadwood........Shame on you HBO....I now cancel YOU at the conclusion of Deadwood!
- Todd D. Epp: Why would you cut one of your most popular shows--"Deadwood"--because "Rome" cost too much to make? How is that "Deadwood's" fault? That is a crazy way to run a business--punish the innocent and successful for the failures of the guilty and inept. Once "The Sopranos" completes its run and "Deadwood" is done, I'll be unsubscribing from HBO.
- Mari Eliza: Bring back Deadwood
- Jeremy Hallisey
- Anne Cox: I sat quietly by while you cancelled Carnivale. I will not do so for your cancellation of Deadwood. I’m canceling you. You can take your third rate movies and overpriced sporting events and sell them to some other sucker. You have nothing left worth watching.
- Grace Knox
- Gareth Watkins: Easily the worst thing HBO can do if they cancel deadwood.
- Angela Gatfield: I cant believe that you even contemplated ending this show. I bought the boxset for season 1, and watched it all in a week. I bought season 2 and it took me less than a weeks viewing immediately after watching season 1. After watching those seasons I immediately signed to HBO purely for Deadwood season 3, I dont watch ANYTHING else on HBO.fter hearing about the cancellation, I have already cancelled my HBO subscription. The way it was handled shows no loyalty to the fans. NO I wont buy the 3rd season on DVD. I'll download it.
- Jackie Hawken: I signed up for HBO today because I love to watch Deadwood! About two hours later I learn that the fourth season may be cancelled. HBO wont last long in my home if the show does not go on! I cant belive they would do away with something so great, or at least give it a proper ending.
- Donna Brown: No reason for me to keep HBO without "Deadwood," the finest TV show in a decade! I’ll cancel the minute season 3 concludes.
- John Keeler: Not first in ratings, but first in quality. A moron would cancel this. Shocking, especially when considering the other shows HBO is commiting to.
- Janice Flowers-Sonne: Please add me to those more than willing to cancel my HBO the day after the Season 3 finale.
- Peter Oliphant
- David Ray
- Karee Anderson: If HBO will not show a commitment to its loyal viewers then at the conclusion of season 3 of Deadwood I will be canceling my subscription to its service.
- Susan Lenti: I am so sorry that we have to live in a world that will not have the superior show "Deadwood". It really makes my life a bit duller, and much sadder. If I have to, I will cancel HBO. But, please, Dear God, WHY???
- Cynthia Zufall
- Jeremy Bartlett: Sorry, HBO. I don't pay for story lines that I take time and effort to invest in only to see them abruptly, capriciously ended. I PAID for this programming, if all you are interested in is bait and switch, count me out. And by the way, Entourage isn't nearly as interesting as you think it is.
- Christina Drake
- Teresa Murray
- Cherie and Ronald Mason
- Matthew Peluzzo
- Lindsay Edward: I was upset when you canned Carnivale, but stuck with you. I thought it was probably a tough decision that had to do with the relatively poor ratings and much as I loved the show, I tried to understand and had faith that this was the abberation, not the rule. However, cancelling a critical and ratings winner such as Deadwood has caused me to utterly distrust your network's professions of dedication to quality television. I will be cancelling my subscription the day after the airing of the season three finale. What a gyp. P.S. You won't stumble over the next Sopranos by axeing everything that doesn't touch it in sheer mass appeal, get over it. So settle for investing in the remarkable and the outstanding (poor you), is a legacy of consistent excellence so terrible?
- Whitney Ware: If Deadwood has been cancelled, my HBO subscription will follow suit. What is it about television executives? Firefly, Deadwood, Carnivale -- only the good die young!
- William Carpenter: I was sad to see Carnivale get cancelled, but knew it was supposed to be more than just a money issue, now with Deadwood getting dropped before the fourth season it appears that HBO IS TV and has become just another network that only cares about the bottom line and not dedicated to quality programming as I was led to believe. I see no reason to continue my long term relationship with HBO after the end of Deadwood and the Sopranos as getting involved in another program only to have it taken away like Carnivale and Deadwood just doesn't make sense. I guess I'll finally have to check out what the other networks are showing on Sunday night.
- Scott Eisenberg
- Jason Mayling
- jerry spencer and crew: no deadwood... no hbo!!! great cast and writing = cancellation? how idiotic!
- Beau Boden: Deadwood is the sole reason for me to subscribe to HBO, no Deadwood, no need for HBO. Goodbye.
- Tom Lueck: Do not cancel Deadwood please!
- Jared Smith: I don't subscribe to HBO but I want to show my support along with all of these other loyal fans. If HBO is dense enough to cancel a show this great then they'll get nary a dollar from me in the future... Why bother subscribing to a network willing to kill its golden goose?!?
- Marc Heiden
- Sohail Bahu: No equal, best show I ever seen on tv
- Larry Mueller: It doesn't get any better than Deadwood. For the love of God, STOP THIS CANCELLING MADNESS!!!
As of June 1, 2006
- Trenton R. Browne: How could they be so incredibly stupid???
- Joel Luscombe: I'll be making sure my household cancels it if they're going to do this to Deadwood. First Carnivale and now this? It's not like Rome is pulling huge numbers but they've got themselves a second ridiculously expensive season.
- Todd J Bush: First they cancelled Carnivale and then Deadwood. I'm done.
- Raymond Tessmann: Deadwood, the only reason I subscribe to hbo!
- Julie Jacobs: All HBO executives involved in this decision should end up like Wolcott, then fed to Wu’s pigs!!!
- Ric Allen: I still tear up for Carnivale, I WILL cancel permanently for Deadwood.
- Rita Snyder: Best show on tv, don't CANCEL!!!!!
- Wendy Cox
- Suzanne Manos: Please do not end Deadwood, if HBO does, I will not watch HBO anymore.
- Tiffany Roche: HBO is supposed to be different than mainstream network tv. Fans of Deadwood, and all HBO original programming, need to show them that unless they stay committed to their actors, writers, and fans, they will lose business.
- James Moore: HBO has lost its collective mind for cancelling Deadwood. The set is there, the actors are there, those incredible scripts are there, and the momentum is there. The fourth season could have been their finest moment instead of an idiotic "business decision" whose impact they won't even bother to measure.
- Bayne Wagner: How can you cancel a series even before the new season begins airing? If HBO cancels Deadwood season 4, I will cancel HBO.
- Lisa Rainer & Brice Ginardi: we only ever watch HBO for Deadwood. No show = our $$ goes elsewhere.
- Jim Staudt: Cancel Deadwood, I cancel HBO. I pay $26 extra a month for HBO, and the ONLY reason I subscribe is for Deadwood. Period.
- Aaron Ford
- Glenn Barbour
- Greg Moss: Thanks for the heads up HBO. It’s the only reason I subscribed - That and the nudity.
- Steve O'Malley: Have not watched a movie on HBO in ages. All they show is second rate crap. "Big Love" is a novelty, but has no real substance. If Deadwood goes..So do we. We plan on saying to hell with the remaining episodes of the Sopranos also.
- Dale Dropek: When Deadwood leaves HBO then I leave HBO !!!!!!!
- Slade Manos: I will cancel my subscription if HBO cancels Season 4 of Deadwood. Please consider your viewers!
- Rudy Perez
- Marcy Howard: cancel Deadwood and I will cancel HBO.
- Stuart Harrison
- Suzanne Harrison: I have been a subscriber to HBO for years and the only thing that I enjoy on HBO is Deadwood. If HBO cancels Deadwood then I will cancel my HBO. What a disgrace.
- Dawn Moore: Please save Season 4 of Deadwood - It is the best written show on TV.
- The Brown-McCue Family: No Deadwood=No HBO. We don’t watch the 3rd rate movies; with Six Feet Under gone, and the Sopranos nose-diving in quality this season, we will cancel the day after Season 3 of Deadwood ends. No reason to pay for what you ain’t watchin’.
- James W. Olson: Once this year's "Deadwood" is completed, I will cancel my subscription to HBO and sign on to Starz and Encore. Both provide better programming for my tastes, and the only reason I signed on to HBO was to watch "Deadwood".
- Mark Heath: Deadwood has the feel of a masterwork. No series should run forever, but every work of integrity and vision should be given a chance to end with an exclamation point. Please give Deadwood and its fans a fourth season.
- Kimberlie Milner
- Alvin and Jean Ladensack
- Aaron Holbrook: I watched Carnivale religiously and ended up wasting my time when it was cancelled without closure. I have done the same with Deadwood and once again I will have a story without an end. Rome is good but I won't subscribe for a year to watch it, only to have it cut off.
- Lori Hall
- Carol McGaughey
- John Carmichael
- Freddy Waff
- Eric Reich: I really enjoy deadwood Please Don't cancel the show for money reasons WTF your HBO !!i'm cancelling if you are too!!!
- James Dougherty
As of June 2, 2006
- Matt Rhodes: I'm fed up with HBO's tendency to leave things unfinished. This general trend toward sub-standard programming decisions has been appalling. HBO's original series are why I continue to subscribe despite the obvious lack of quality cinema content (the first victim of Chris Albrecht's leadership). I'm not even sure that this decision to cancel Deadwood is even real. It wouldn't be the first time this tactic has been used to hype a program on HBO. Regardless, I am therefore forced to cancel my subscription. With Deadwood renewed or not. This trend is obviously not temporary. I will spend my entertainment dollars elsewhere. Preferably not with AOL Time Warner. If that's even POSSIBLE anymore.
- Maureen Connors: We've endured the pap HBO has thrown at us thinking it would go away or get more interesting. Why can't they keep the good stuff? Deadwood has been the high point of HBO programming since its premiere. Without it, HBO is not worth keeping.
- Cheryl Henry
- Benjamin Savage
- Craig Litwiller: You cancel Deadwood = I cancel HBO
- Hans Christian Vang: I live in Denmark, so i can't subscribe to HBO. But i can buy DVD's, and i've done so for every major HBO series... I own Six Feet Under Seasons 1-5, Deadwood Seasons 1-2, the entire Sex in the City series, all the Curb your Enthusiasm sets that're out, etc, etc.. I'm an HBO Junkie... But guess what? If you guys continue to SCREW US like this, cancelling shows in mid-story, then i will just save my money for other shows - i had hoped HBO would never stoop so low, but in the end you are just another piece of shit, money grubbing TV-Network. If you cancel your hit shows, like the fucking sci fi channel did with farScape, before they're concluded, then you can go &^%$ yourselves - truly and sincerely. "It's not TV. It's HBO..." What a load of crap. Not gonna take it up the &^%s, from you people anymore. Find someone else to hump.
- Ron Clemente: You will be cancelling the best show ever to be on pay tv. Sopranos got nuthin on deadwood.
- Dexter Branscome
- Billy Wynn
- Nicholas Woods Reed: Deadwood is best the series on TV (probably ever on TV) and to not have more seasons would be tragic.
- Anna Marie & Paul W. Brown
- Judi Beu: If HBO cancels Deadwood, I'll cancel HBO!!
- Cheryl O'Malley: What a shame it is when the quest for the bottom line supercedes common sense. Appease the shareholders by making your profits appear higher and to hell with the loyal fan base and viewers of Deadwood one of the best of your groundbreaking series to date. Such is the world of corporate greed. With the cancellation of Deadwood, so goes our subscription to HBO after being a loyal subscriber for 25 years.
- Allen Hall: Deadwood needs a 4th season or I will end my relationship with HBO.
- Eric W. Shamlin
- Mike Wiener: First the Red Sox break the Curse of the Bambino, and now this! Albrecht will now be known for invoking the Curse of the Cocksuckers - Deadwood's 10th Man has spoken!
- Roger Gambriel: Forgive the words !!!! cocksuckers do not cancel the show woo cocksucker no problem canceling. Might as well go staight to dvd with the rest of the shows because i can wait for dvd for the rest deadwood is #1 al the rest biglove 2 saps 3
- John Gray: I only pay for HBO to support shows like Deadwood. I can watch the bulk of HBO content for free online, but I choose to support them financially. No more. I'm ready to cancel before season three starts. I'm not going to miss season three or paying for HBO.
- Katie Martin
- Nicholas Galvin.
- Paul Carter: Cancelling this brilliant show mid-story before the already planned for 4th season will result in my permanent and immediate CANCELLATION of HBO after season 3 ends.
- Lynn Grant: Deadwood was #2 in the ratings and costs $60 million to produce a season. You dump Deadwood, but renew a series like Rome which you spend $100 million plus on. Rome did not get nominated or win any awards and it never ranked very high in the ratings game. HBO please delay the Rome series and spend that money on a fourth season of Deadwood!!!!!
- Barry Greenwood: I've subscribed to HBO for 26 years and this is probably the single most bone-headed move made in that entire time. A trend towards airing incomplete series harkens back to old network TV which is what I thought Cable TV was replacing. What's next? Commercials! Finish Deadwood or see you later. I don't patronize 4-course restaurants that only serve 3 courses.
- Mary and James Tautkus

As of June 3, 2006
- Gary Nickel: Deadwood is the only show I watch on HBO
- Angela Jeffery: I've just heard that HBO are cancelling Deadwood. I'm in Australia, don't get HBO, and Fox does not run the series. I came across the Deadwood series in a local Blockbuster store and started hiring out the seasons. I was contemplating buying the series on DVD because the Deadwood series settled into a strong and compelling drama to watch. If the rumours are correct in that the series is not going to continue into the fourth year, then to me there is no point buying the series on DVD - would you buy a book with one quarter of end chapters missing? I may not be able to cancel a HBO subscription, but I can refrain from spending my money on their product.
- Simon Costanzi: I blame David Milch more but since I can't cancel him once The Wire finishes its run I'm gone.
- Patrick Thuemmel
- Tom Gamble
- Brett Ellis: Deadwood is the best series HBO has ever created. It needs another season. To cancel it now would be like Da Vinci stopping a painting mid-way through. Please don't make that mistake.
- Rick Giles: Cancelling this brilliant show mid-story before the already planned for 4th season will result in my permanent and immediate CANCELLATION of HBO.
- Aaron Schultz
- Doug Sailer: If Deadwood is dropped, then my decision on how to reduce my ever increasing cable bill will be much easier, drop HBO.
- Karen Weber: Deadwood being cancelled is bad enough - but knowing that Season 3 was written and shot with a 4th Season being anticipated by Milch would make its cancellation unforgivable! C*CKSUCKERS! Heck, I may not wait until Season 3 is over - I might cancel now and have someone tape it for me and only renew my HBO when/if HBO announces a renewal of Deadwood.
- James Ingebritson
- Brent Wise: HBO is slowly morphing into that crap network FOX. First Carnivale and now Deadwood. Awful.
- Chet Paul
- Lon P. Ratcliff Jr.: There will be NOMOHBO in this house after the end of Deadwood's third season. It was the only thing left that justified the extra $12 per month.
- Lee Tucker
- Walters Family: The worst curse word on DEADWOOD could not describe HBO and Chris 'whatever- his name- is' for doing this to it's viewers. SHAME!
- Doug Adams: Now I don't have to renew my subscription.
- I am very disappointed that you are not going to have Deadwood on for a fourth season. It is by far the best show you have on. It is the most talked about show you have ever had on. Yet, you seem to cancel the really great ones, for example Carnivale which still had at least another good season, but will keep on shows that aren't as great such as Entourage and hype it as if it was so great. I really hope you will reconsider and keep this fine show on as its only so long before cutomers will cancel their HBO.
As of June 4, 2006
- Matt Goldey
- Bill Randall
- Dewey Brackett: No Deadwood....HBO you are Dead Meat as far as I'm concerned
- Barbara Henry
- Dan and Sabrina Kurban: Cancel Deadwood we cancel HBO.
- Brooke Schroeder: You left me hanging with Carnivale, I haven’t even seen a hint of The Wire another great show I am afraid will never be back, the Soprano’s are over, Sex and the City gone and now you are canceling a show I bought HBO to watch in the first place. Bad move HBO. I guess this is good bye. When the season ends so will my subscription.
- Bill Leska: I like HBO, but I dropped Showtime after they dropped Dead Like Me. I’ll do the same if HBO drops Deadwood.
- Kristina Smorol
- John Adelmann: I am canceling my HBO subscription today. I won't invest the time, money, or emotion to watch the third season since it will never conclude properly.
- Lauren Swetnam
- Cat Davis: I want Deadwood back!
- Alex & Kimberly Kessler
- Lisa Fitzgerald-Isenhour
- Cecil Isenhour: I'm tired of shows with no end. This was the best show EVER. You end Deadwood, My household ends HBO, no more!!!
- Bill Brencher: Hey HBO...Finish what you started. There's really no reason to keep HBO after Deadwood ends its run. Movies are no reason to subscribe to any premium service. It is the original programming that makes the difference. HBO is obiously making some poor decisions. What happened to you guys. Showtime's programming is sounding pretty interesting.
- Chad Adams
- Karen: As devastated as I was to see Six Feet Under end I was treated to what I and many others consider to be one of if not the best series finales in television history. This could NEVER had happened had Alan Ball and co. not know the 5th season was to be the shows last season. And sorry, but HBO isn't the only ones to blame here, people. Milch was offered 6 shows to finish up the story line and turned them down :( Needless to say I won't be catching the wave with Milch or HBO on their new surfer series or any other series.
- Tony Lewis: Eff you HBO...
- Charles Schultz III
- Angella M. Mueller
- Rachel Latin: First we were jerked around with Sopranos (who waits 2 years between seasons?) and now Deadwood is cancelled??? After this season of Deadwood I am definitely canceling my HBO. I can watch "Lost" for free!!
- Jon Marti: Wow HBO, with this one act of letting Deadwood prematurely die, you have officially become just another network. So why should I pay so much extra for what I can get for cheap? I wonder what profanity Al Swearengen would have for such a betrayal!

Milch, net agree on pair of specials for series finale
"Deadwood" lives.
After a month of what seemed like public negotiating, HBO and "Deadwood" creator-exec producer David Milch have kissed and made up, as it were, agreeing to produce a pair of two-hour specials that will serve as the show's series finale.
